Hello and welcome to our page! My name is Mrs. Strafford and I will be your child's teacher this year. This this will be my 18th year teaching. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta and my M.A in Teaching English As a Second Language from Stony Brook University. This will be my 9th year teaching 6th grade at Longwood. I have also taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. In addition, I had the opportunity to teach in Arizona for 6 out of the 18 years. Teaching in Arizona was a great opportunity, as it allowed me to strengthen my skills as an ENL teacher.

After living in Arizona for 6 years we decided to move back to Long Island. My husband and I have a 10 year old girl named Emily, a 4 year old boy named Gavin and a Boston Terrier named Chloe.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions and I truly feel privileged to be in my career. I've wanted to be a teacher ever since elementary school and my passion for it has not diminished since.
