Habits for Happy Successful Kids
The counseling curriculum at the Upper Elementary has a major focus of teaching and exploring habits students can develop/practice that will bring happiness and success to their lives. The habits can help students with friendships, family relationships, self-esteem, self-control, academic development, future career goals, and growing understanding of themselves as an individual.
First Semester Each School Year
All 4th grade students are taught introductory lessons on 8 habits.
5th grade students build on these lessons while learning about personal strengths and careers
6th Grade these are behavior expectations and reviewed during the monthly character education announcements.
What are the 8 habits?

3. Put First Things First
4. Think Win-Win
5. Seek First to Understand, THEN to be Understood
6. Synergize
7. Sharpen the Saw
8. Find YOUR Voice, then Inspire Others to Find Theirs
