School guidance lessons are aligned to Missouri State Learning standards in three specific areas. Academic skills, career development, and social/emotional development are the emphasis of our essential learning outcomes for each grade level. These standards were last updated by the state of Missouri in 2016. These expectations can been seen here: School Counseling Grade Level Expectations K-12
The Upper Elementary Counseling Lesson topics can be found in my August News Letter.
For examples of supplementary lessons students might receive see the following link. These are samples and our lessons vary to meet the specific learning styles and needs for each group of students. Missouri School Counselor Sample Lessons
This link goes to the K-12 Logan-Rogersville Counselor Manual updated Fall 2022. As required for state program alignment, counseling departments update local district manuals every 3 to 5 years to make sure we are using the current standards and program information along with assessing the needs of the local district students, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
