A Biography of the PTA 1933-34
The parents and teachers of District 26 met at the Central School house March 13, 1933 to organize a PTA. They were entertained with a playlet given by Miss Martha Deweys’ Normal girls, after which Miss Sylvia Watts gave a talk on, “The purpose and benefit of the PTA.” Miss Watts also acted as chairman while officers were elected.
The following officers were selected: Mrs. P.M. Lile, Pres., Mrs. B.F. Regnier, Vice Pres., Mrs. Chas. Peters Secretary & Treas.
It was moved that the meetings were to be held on the second Saturday of each School month and that they would be held alternately at the different school houses, the first meeting being at Pinehill.
Committees were appointed by the Pres. Miss McGuire, Mrs. Matheson and Mrs. A.J. Peters were chosen for the program committee. Mrs. Piccolo, Mrs. Sheerow and Margaret Kleuck for the serving committee.
There being on [sic] further business the meeting adjourned with the membership of 30. Refreshments were served by the teachers.
