PowerPoint State Research Project
Can students create a persuasive PowerPoint presentation to show three important features for a state that they choose?
Students will learn the following:
create a six slide Google Presentation with different backgrounds (At least two need to be a picture)
research on the Internet
add a new slide
insert a text box
insert a picture
create an animation
use transitions
format backgrounds
use themes
Each student will randomly be given a number that will determine which state the student will work on. Use the information below to determine what state you would like to present.
1. A state that borders the eastern side of the Mississippi River
2. A state that is part of the Louisiana Purchase
3. A state that is one of the original 13 colonies
4. One of the last 10 states to become a state
5. A state that borders the Atlantic Ocean
6. A state that borders the Gulf of Mexico
7. A state that borders the Pacific Ocean
8. A state that borders the Great Lakes
9. A state that starts with M but is not known for the following: lakes or lobsters or cars or crabs or has a 'SS' in the name. (or a state that borders this state)
10. A state that starts and ends with the same letter
11. A state whose state bird is either the Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher, the Blue Hen Chicken or Willow Ptarmigan
12. A state that has the most telescopes or the state that has the most crayfish or the state that is the geographic center of North America or the state with the largest natural stone bridge
13. A state with a diamond mine.
