When you know that you are going to have your students interacting with new knowledge, you could have ready, an auditory cue that will alert them that new/critical information is about to be presented/displayed/shared.
If the new information is on a website or pdf, the teacher can use annotation tools to highlight critical information for the students.
Teachers could set up a generic four-point scale on an online polling or gaming site and have the students self-assess their level of understanding of the critical information.
Use presentation software to embed a visual, video, or nonlinguistic representation of the critical information into a presentation.
