Legacy utilizes Skyward to track time off. However, employees who may require a substitute in their absence must also use Frontline.
Time Off Rules
Full Time employee receive are allocated 5 State Days & 5 Local days on the first day of the academic year to utilize throughout the school year.
Time off is provided in advance based on the projected work days.
If employee does not work all projected work days, time off allocation will be prorated to the actual amount earned.
State and Local days can only be utilized in full (1.00) or half-day (0.50) increments..
If an employee wishes to avoid a dock in pay when a leave balance is present, an Acknowledgement of Time Off Policies form must be signed and on file with the district.
Employees are only required to sign this form once while employed with LPCA and it can only be revoked in writing.
Absences are managed utilizing two separate platforms contingent upon an employee's role within the district. Those platforms are:
Skyward Employee Access - For employees who do not need subs in their stead.
Frontline Absence Management - For employees who need subs in their stead. - These employees should ALWAYS begin time off request in Skyward.

State & Local
Employee cannot take more than 3 days consecutively without medical documentation or Superintendent pre-approval
Cannot be taken before or after a holiday without Superintendent pre-approval
Bereavement
Comments must specify what family member has passed. (i.e. Mother, Grandfather, Step-parent etc.)
Must be an approved family member. (See Employee Handbook)
Must be validated with supporting documentation. (Death Certificate, Obituary naming employee as approved family member)
Lack of validation will result in reduction in pay or use of PTO as applicable.
School Business
Must include registration confirmation with initial time off request
Must attach proof of attendance (issued badge, sign in sheet, certificate of completion etc.) within 3 business days of return.
Jury Duty
Must include all pages of jury summons with initial time off request.
Must attach proof of attendance (Bailiff letter) within 3 business days of return.
Field Trip
Must include approved proposal with initial time off request.
Employee name must be shown on the approved proposal.
Vacation
No restrictions.
Approved at supervisor/superintendent discretion.
