Five Star Academy Advisors provides FREE counseling services for young men and women who want to pursue a career of national service and want to start that career by attending a service academy. Five Star can provide assistance at any time in the application process, but the earlier you start the more we can help. Ideally, we like to start prior to the sophomore year of high school.
There is no cost to obtain the services of Five Star Academy Advisors. We will never send you a bill.
Why? Simple. This is our way of giving back to this great country - by ensuring that the finest young men and women have the best possible opportunity to continue the tradition of service that has made America what it is today.
U.S. Air Force Academy:

Academy Nomination: Between March 1st of the Junior year & December 31st of the Senior year, the student must initiate their Academy application & request Congressional nomination.

U.S. Coast Guard Academy - Academy Introduction Mission (AIM)
The Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) is a one-week summer program where you’ll immerse yourself in Academy life. Exclusively for students entering their senior year of high school, AIM is regarded as the most realistic of the service academy summer orientation programs.
AIM will test and inspire you. It will push you to your limits. You’ll rise early. You’ll study. You’ll compete. For six non-stop days, you’ll test your mind, body and spirit in every way.
Intense and rewarding, AIM will help you to discover whether the Academy experience is truly what you want from college, and whether you have what it takes to succeed.
United States Marines Summer Leadership and Character Development Academy (SLCDA)
There is NO obligation to join the Marine Corps!
SLCDA is a 7-day leadership where you will experience the following: ethics, education and leadership training; team building, team development and leadership practical application exercises at Marine Corps Base Quantico; teamwork, leadership and community service project; a visit to Washington DC; distinguished guest speakers. Eligibility/ Criteria: Applicants must have completed their sophomore year of high school; have participated in athletic, leadership and service-oriented activities; and possess moral and ethical standards. U.S. Military Academy (West Point):
Academy Nomination: Outstanding 11th Graders should start their applications right away. Interested students should check: apply.usma.edu
Freshmen & Sophomores: should request “Your Guide to Successful Admission” & go to discover.usma.edu/guide.
U.S. Navy ROTC
Navy ROTC application: Apply at https://www.nrotc.navy.mil/
Selected applicants receive: Full tuition and other financial benefits worth $180,000 and $250-$400/month tax-free spending money. NROTC Units are located at over 150 of the nation’s leading colleges and universities. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen & at least 17 years of age and not older than 23 by June 30th of the year you start college. Applicants must also take the ACT or SAT test and receive at least the following minimum scores ACT Math 21/English 22 and SAT Math 520/CR 530.
