Upcountry Rotary Students of the Month

UPCOUNTRY ROTARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to recognize outstanding KEKAULIKE SENIORS every month (August - May) through the Upcountry Rotary Club. They not only recognize our kids, but students from Kamehameha Schools Maui as well. The student, their parents/guardians, as well as a member of our Admin team are invited to a recognition brunch (or virtual meeting). It has been a great opportunity to showcase the students, and their achievements and potential to members of the Upcountry community.

SELECTION PROCESS (starting w/ c/o 2017)

The entire Kekaulike Staff has a chance to voice their selections through a Google Form sent out by the Student Activities Coordinator. For about 3 weeks in May, staff members are able to contribute names of current Juniors to be recognized the next school year - their Senior year.

This is what the staff is prompted with:

"The Rotary Student of the Month is successful in academics, the arts, and/or athletics, demonstrates good character, and exhibits "service above self". This student also has to be a good speaker as they have to speak at the awards presentation. AND of course, must be an awesome representation of Kekaulike!"

Because the recognitions happen once a month from August to May, 10 students with the most nominations are selected. If there is a tie, the teachers who nominated those students are asked to narrow down the list.
