Film Review - "The Queen's Corgi"

by Wu Man Ying (4C)

The film The Queen’s Corgi was released on 3rd April 2019 in France and Belgium. It is also expected to be released in 2019 in many more countries around the world.

The film is about the adventure of Rex, one of the British monarch’s most beloved corgis. He chose to leave his home with his friend to travel to other places because of a mistake. However, his friend framed him because he was jealous of him. After that, a man saved Rex and took him to the animal shelter. In the animal shelter, he met many new friends and found his true love. His friends helped him to find his home and fight against the friends who framed him. Finally, they succeeded in helping Rex to find his home and resisting the friend who framed him.

I think Rex is easy to be deceived. He thinks his friend really likes him. Therefore, he totally believes his friend. However, he has no idea that his friend will frame him. I think his shortcoming is that he believes others too much. Although Rex has his shortcoming, he has his merit too. He is very brave. He couldn’t understand the bullying of the weak dogs, so he decided to resist with his friends. Being brave, he succeeded in resisting the dogs who always bully other dogs. It is of justice for Rex to help the dogs which are weak. Therefore, my favourite character is Rex.

My favourite part is that Rex saves his girlfriend in the fire field. For some reason, only one of them can leave the fire field. It is so touching that Rex sacrificed his life to save his friend. Rex is indeed very courageous.

After watching this film, I have learnt that we should trust our friends with sincerity. We should not frame them because of jealousy. Also, I have learnt that if something makes us feel dissatisfied, we should resist it. If we don’t resist, things will get worse. We need to be genuine, just like Rex, if we want to save someone who is very important for us.
