Silver Prize

2016-2017 Scholarship for English Immersion Programmes

Silver Prize Nip Ka Yin 2A

Last year, I was awarded the Silver Prize of the Scholarship for English Immersion Programmes and I was given one thousand dollars. I used it and joined our school’s Englishleap Summer Camp.

The summer camp was about providing an English environment for students to improve their English. Last summer holiday was the second time I joined it. After this camp, I became more confident in speaking English. The camp tutors all came from Harvard University. They do not understand or speak Cantonese, which left me no choice but to speak English in order to communicate with them. Also, the activities in this camp included drama as the main activity. It has helped me improve my self-confidence and let me know how to be an actress for the story "Treasure Island".

I was really grateful for receiving this scholarship because I could improve my English. It is a very meaningful scholarship because it could subsidize those students whose families do not have enough money to join the Canadian Immersion Programme. The scholarship is the good way for them to join the camp in our school. If I have more chance, I will apply for the scholarship programme again.
