Year 11

This page is for students who are currently in Year 10 and will be in Year 11 by November 2024.

Students who study a language

Students who study a language will do a language immersion activity.

These activities not only create long-term social and experiential memories but also more immediate academic benefits as the entire week will be conducted in the language a student is studying for iGCSE. See each page below for details.

European language trips

Local European language immersion activities will be provided at no cost for students unable to travel overseas.

Chinese language trips

Local Chinese language immersion activities will be provided at no cost for students unable to travel overseas.

Students who do not study a language in Year 11

Students who do not study a language in Year 11 can choose from other Challenge Week activities. See the list below. Note that some activities are open to older students as well and may fill up before sign-up day on Wednesday, March 6th 2024.

In the years we have been running language immersion activities, we have seen students performing more strongly in their oral examinations following Challenge Week and students report more motivation and enjoyment of their language subject. This is particularly true for students involved in language trips outside of Hong Kong.

Overseas activities require a $3000 non-refundable deposit so we can safely book tickets, accommodation, land transport and land agents in time to fit large groups and to help us honour the price quoted below if students withdraw. Please think carefully and talk to your parents before signing up.

Families must ensure they will have valid travel documents and be able to obtain any relevant travel visas in time for Challenge Week. There can be different requirements for obtaining visas for travel for different national passports and we are unable to obtain them on your behalf. Please check this carefully before requesting an activity outside of Hong Kong.
