Year 7 Challenge Week is a wonderful opportunity for students to build resilience, develop leadership, and form lasting friendships across their year group.
Please discuss the schedule with your child to ensure they are fully prepared.

Overview of the Week
Students will be in tutor groups and move together through 5 activities during the week.
Taskmaster (at KGV): Hosted on campus; students participate in collaborative, creative team-building challenges. KGV staff members in charge of this activity: Ms Emma Gillyon and Ms Meryl Andrews
Taskoneering (APA): An outdoor navigation and problem-solving challenge led by Asia Pacific Adventure (APA) staff. KGV staff member in charge of this activity: Mr Alex Larmour
Sham Shui Po: An immersive cultural experience starting on campus before travelling to Sham Shui Po. Students will have the opportunity to explore and purchase snacks/lunch while out. KGV staff member in charge of this activity: Mr Rowan Varty
Kayaking & Beach (APA): Water sports and beach activities facilitated by APA staff in Sai Kung. KGV staff member in charge of this activity: Mr Steve Rigby
Sai Kung & Trio (SK & Trio): An outdoor trek to Trio Beach, focusing on team building and outdoor skills. KGV staff members in charge of this activity: Mr Rowan Turner and Ms Kelly Howell.
The table below shows the rotation schedule for each House across the five days.
Please note the days your child will be on campus and the days they will participate in off-campus activities in Sham Shui Po or Sai Kung.
DAILY ROUTINE
Arrival & Registration
Students must swipe in as normal and assemble in the School Hall at 8:10 AM each day to register with their group leads before departing for activities.
End of Day
Buses will return students to school by 3:10 PM.
Dismissal
Students will assemble in the Hall before being dismissed to go home as usual. (Students with signed permission forms may meet/be released directly from off-campus venues.)
Absences
If your child is unwell or unable to attend, please notify the school via the ESF Hub as usual.
CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT
House Colours: Students should wear a top in their House Colours every day (Crozier: Green, Nightingale: Yellow, Rowell: Blue, Upsdell: Red and/or the PE kit) along with comfortable shorts and trainers (no skirts). Bring extra layers in case of cool weather.
Equipment: We ask that students leave laptops and other valuable items at home, as they won't be needed for the activities. Students may bring a mobile phone to stay in touch during off-campus activities. Phones may not be used on the KGV campus, and they remain the student's responsibility, as the school cannot accept liability for any lost, damaged, or stolen items off campus.
ACTIVITY-SPECIFIC KIT LISTS
Taskmaster (at KGV): House colours (layers if cold), packed lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. (Mostly indoors).
Taskoneering (APA): House colours, trainers, sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, warm layers, packed lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.
Sham Shui Po: House colours, comfortable walking shoes, sun hat, sunscreen, water bottle, and an Octopus Card with at least HKD $100 credit (students may purchase lunch/snacks while out and buy the items for their Box of Hope (Charity)).
Kayaking & Beach (APA): House colours, swimwear, water shoes (or old trainers that can get wet), towel, change of dry clothes, sunscreen, sun hat, insect repellent, water bottle, packed lunch, and snacks.
Sai Kung & Trio: House colours, sturdy trainers/walking shoes, sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, layers, packed lunch/snacks (or money to buy lunch/snacks on site), and a full water bottle.
Important Action Required (Google Form) ONLY if……
Please complete the online Yr7 CW Consent & Logistics Form only if you would prefer your son/daughter to arrive at or leave directly from the activity venues for 3 of the events.
