Year 7 Challenge Week

The Year 7 Challenge Week activity is for students who will be in Year 7 in October 2023. Year 7 Challenge Week is all about getting to know new people, learning new skills and making a contribution - while having lots of fun!

All students meet at KGV in the hall by 8:15am on Monday October 30th.

Students should bring their camping bag fully packed on Monday morning. We will check it during the day and store it ready for camp.


Itinerary for the week

Monday:
All students. Preparation for camp and team building at KGV. Arrive 8:15 - dismiss 3:20pm

Tuesday:
Tutor groups C1, N1, R1 and U1 go to Chung Pui campsite
Tutor groups C2, N2, R2 and U2 got to Hok Tau campsite
All other students meet at KGV by 8:15am for the Sham Shui Po treasure hunt

Wednesday:
Camping continues - students return to KGV by 3:20pm
All other students meet at KGV by 8:15am for a house competition day

Thursday:
Tutor groups C3, N3, R3 and U3 go to Hok Tau campsite
Tutor groups C4, N4, R4 and U4 got to Chung Pui campsite
All other students meet at KGV by 8:15am for the Sham Shui Po treasure hunt

Friday:
Camping continues - students return to KGV by 3:20pm
All other students meet at KGV by 8:15am for a house competition day

Students can have access to their mobile phones throughout the day as part of activities and for communication purposes. 


CAS elements included in this trip:

Creativity

Students will use their creative and performance talents as part of their preparations for the House Chant as well.

Activity

Students will be involved in physical activity each day. 

Service

All students will have a turn at serving their Year 7 community through helping with setting up and clearing away after each activity as well as participating in a trail/ beach clean.


Requirements: The ethos of the week is inclusive and open to all. Where activities need to be modified to suit the needs of  a particular student this will take place.
