A day with one significant climb: 650m over 15Km and a total of just over 1000m climb, but with fairly constant grade for the most part. The total distance is around 59Km.

The climb begins almost immediately from Sansepolcro. The road winds gently though mixed farmland and forest. After around 19Km we reach the summit at Pieve Santo Stefano where there is a tourist stop and then it is practically all downhill for 40Km!

At a little over half way at 30Km we come to the town of Badia Tedalda where there are multiple lunch possibilities. The one that appears popular with the locals is off the main road at Piazza dei Tedaldi.

Soon afterwards the road approaches the Marecchia River and follows it downstream for the rest of the day's trip. About 3Km before the end of the route, the road crosses the river and we cruise into Novafeltria along a cycle path that we will rejoin in the morning for a short distance.

Osteria Madamadore is well regarded for dinner.
