In our Grade ½ class, we have been discussing how fortunate we are to live in Canada. We have discussed how some children from different countries do not have all the luxuries that we have including food, water, shelter and toys. As a result, we have decided to try and fill some shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. These boxes will then be delivered to children living in war and poverty.
Here is a list of suggested items:
ü Small soccer ball (with needle and pump)
ü Small doll
ü Stuffed animal
ü Little cars
ü Puzzles
ü Hair clips/elastics
ü Jump ropes
ü Pencils and pencil sharpener
ü Pens
ü Crayons
ü Small notebooks
ü Toothbrushes with a case
ü Bar soap with a case
ü Washcloths
ü Combs
ü T-shirts (no words or pictures)
ü socks
Please do not include food/candy, used items, playing cards, items that could leak (i.e. shampoo, toothpaste), breakable items or toys that can scare a child. A small money donation is also an option as it costs $7/box to cover the cost of mailing. This is done through the Samaritan’s Purse organization.
Our goal is to pack two boxes. One box for a girl aged 5-9 years old and one box for a boy aged 5-9. If we collect more – even better! J
Please send these items to school by Monday November 21st.
Thank you in advance for your kind donation.
