Newstelling

Beginning on Tuesday October 14^th, we will be starting Newstelling as part of our Language program. The Newstelling will follow a specific format as I would like to practice recounts which we are currently learning about in writing. Your child has been assigned one day of the week as their Newstelling Day. On this day, students will be speaking to the class about an event that has occurred in the past. It could be a simple activity like going to a hockey or gymnastics practice or something larger like taking a trip. It is up to your child. A Helping Hand will be going home with your child to help them prepare. This oral language activity is intended to help your child become more comfortable thinking about the components of a recount. We will then be transferring this understanding to our writing.

Please see the schedule below. Since we will be starting after the Thanksgiving weekend, we will start with the Tuesday students.
