Colorado PTA is supporting an issue that will be on the 2019 fall ballot: Proposition CC, Retain Revenue for Education and Transportation. This ballot question, without raising taxes, allows the state to keep and spend the revenue that comes to the state from current taxing formulas. Otherwise TABOR, a 1992 constitutional amendment, sets a revenue limit above which funds need to be returned to taxpayers. Voting to let the state keep the excess will allow extra funds for K-12 education, higher education, and transportation equally. It could be as much as $100 million for schools! Ballots will be mailed in October for a November 5 election deadline.

Save the date for April 11, 2020-Kyffin PTA will be hosting a parenting workshop called Parenting Safe Children. Many of you know how passionate I am about keeping kids safe from sexual abuse. For this reason, I want every person with children in their lives to learn the invaluable information presented in this workshop; conversations you can have with every caregiver about your children’s body safety and tools that can be quickly and easily implemented with your children like, “You are the boss of your body,” and “We don’t keep secrets, but surprises are okay.” Please email Tina Galterio with any questions: tgalterio@gmail.com
