Destination Imagination

Great news! Destination Imagination (DI) is getting organized and forming teams at Kyffin! My name is Barbara Fox, and I have two grandchildren at Kyffin. I have agreed to be the DI Coordinator for the school. There is a flyer going home to parents in the Friday folders with information about DI. Scan the QR code to view a short video introduction to DI. You can also go online at the DI Website to learn more: www.destinationimagination.org.

This hands-on program is an amazing opportunity for children to apply and expand their creativity and to learn incredible skills that will help them throughout their lives – such as brainstorming, self-confidence, problem solving, teamwork, planning and collaboration. Kids work in teams of 5-7 students, and the team will have an adult team manager, or a pair of “co-managers” to help guide them on their journey as they solve a STEAM problem. Each team will need a parent or two to volunteer to be the manager(s). Being a team manager provides the opportunity to have a meaningful memory-building experience with your child, and you get the bonus of getting to know some classmates. Expert guidance and support for everything a manager will need to know is available from myself, our Jeffco DI Regional Director and our DI Colorado state association.

Please contact me at barbarajfox@gmail.com if you have questions about DI, would like your child to participate or would like to volunteer as a team manager.
