STEM = Science Technology Engineering & Math
Students actually need pencils everyday for bellwork, sketching, project work!
Grading/quarter: 9 minor assessments(50%) and 3 Major assessments(50%)
Grading Codes: GFA = Grade Floor Applied (actual assessment below grading floor); NHI = Not Handed In (or completed enough)

All Students:
BELLWORK: All students are expected to complete their daily Bellwork assignment consisting of copying a STEM vocabulary/fact/question and solving a basic core math skill.
Design and Modeling: All students will experience different levels of the Design & Modeling Unit throughout the semester which includes, Pictorial (3D) and Orthographic (2D) freehand technical sketching, ONSHAPE (3D computer modeling), and 3D printing. We have acquired a Glowforge Laser Engraver/Cutter that will introduce students to this exciting technology.
All students will engage in Critical Thinking activities and NewsELA reading assignments throughout the semester.

Flight & Space: Competition Paper Airplanes & Air Rockets
7th Grade:
Flight and Space: WhiteWings Competition Flyer, Soda-Bottle Water Rockets; Automation & Robotics: VEXIQ; Hovercraft: Air Skimmers; High-Speed Rail (Magnetic Levitation "MagLev" Trains)
8th grade:
Flight & Space: Ultralight Covered-Wing Airplanes, Solid-Fuel model Rocketry; Medical Detectives; Magic of Electrons: DC Electric Motors, Mousetrap Vehicles, Residential Architectural Design
