About Me

I am from Kettering, Ohio...a suburb of Dayton...and graduated from Fairmont West High School. I started playing the trombone in 5th grade in my elementary school band, and continued through high school with marching/concert/jazz bands and orchestra. I still play occasionally. I played Junior High basketball and baseball, really liked wrestling, but pursued gymnastics in high school and college. I loved my experiences in music, but decided in my junior year that I wanted to be an Industrial Technology teacher, collegiate athlete, and high school coach.

Many of my friends went to Ohio State, but I chose D1-AA Eastern Kentucky University for its Industrial Education and gymnastics programs. I hold a B.S. +18 degree in Industrial Arts Education with certifications in Pre-Vocation, Industrial Technology, and Gateway To Technology.

I taught and coached (wrestling & track) at Woodmont High School for 22 years before coming to Tanglewood in 2003. My first two years at Tanglewood were the last two years in the original building. During those two years, my classes were able to watch the construction of our current school building from the first bulldozer and sewer pipes to completion. Our track was built up from dirt moved by the huge earth movers. There's a lot of below-ground work that is covered up.

My wife, Carla, and I are blessed with two daughters, Kendra and Payton.
