SOLAR ENERGYAN INTRODUCTION FOR NEBRASKANS

Learn all about solar energy at Green Bellevue's July meeting. Join us for a series of 10-minute presentations addressing the technical, political, environmental and economic advantages involved, as well as some challenges facing solar energy.

  • Michael Shonka, teacher and owner of Solar Heat & Electric, will discuss installation and the basics of solar energy generation.

  • Eric Williams, president of Nebraskans for Solar, will discuss the organization, his own 3 kW solar PV system and "SOLAR EV" Nissan Leaf, and the Solar Wireless Electric Location (SWEL).

  • Ken Winston, Legislative Legal Council and advocate, will discuss legislation, the state view, LES and other new systems.

  • Helen Deffenbacher, Nebraskans for Solar, will discuss NE solar schools.

  • Don Preister, president of Green Bellevue and Councilman, will give an update on the Bellevue solar garden, city solar panels and E-cars.

  • Ala'a Rayyan, Creighton University, will present a student study for Sarpy County application of a solar farm on the closed landfill.

Green Bellevue programs are free and open to the public.

We will be meeting in our regular location at the Nebraska Medicine Center (formerly Bellevue Medical Center) in the lower level meeting room area in Conference Room A. You can park in the visitor parking lot and enter through the main door. Go down the stairs, make a "u-turn" and Conference A is down the hall on your left.
