Clayton Payne
Background:
I first began working at the Grauer School in September of 2001. Prior to fulfilling my desire to be involved in education, I worked as a content provider and project manager for an internet information and technology company following my graduation from UC San Diego. During my first years at the Grauer School, I developed an intense passion for math education and earned a Master’s Degree in the subject. As Dean of Students, I am a part of the senior administration Leadership Team.
What Students Can Expect:
I believe that students learn best in a relaxed, jovial atmosphere. However, in that climate, I do expect that students hold themselves accountable for their performance and to be active, self-advocating participants in their learning. I want students to be resourceful in their problem solving and critical thinking to better fuel their intellectual curiosity as I focus heavily on conceptual understanding.
