Borrowing
If you'd like to borrow equipment, please use the online request form. Please review equipment policy below before submitting your request. For info about available equipment, please email the lab assistant.
Loan Periods
*Please respect your fellow students and return your equipment on time.*
Audio equipment: 3-week loan, up to 3 renewals allowed (if no other requests are made for that same piece of equipment)
Video equipment: 3-day loan, up to 3 renewals allowed (if no other requests are made for that same piece of equipment)
LCD Projector: 4-day loan
During your loan period: If you experience problems with the equipment during your loan period, please report it to the lab assistant. Otherwise, all equipment must be returned in the same condition it was in at the beginning of the loan period. Students are responsible to replace any equipment they damage.
Item return and renewal: After three renewals, if you still need the equipment, you will need to meet with the RA for a further renewal and bring the equipment with you to that meeting. If you fail to return the equipment or fail to renew your equipment in a timely manner, you will no longer be permitted to check equipment out of the lab. You may still be able to use equipment within the lab and reserve the rooms
The LCD Projector: The projector was purchased primarily for department talks, but can be borrowed for off-campus linguistics conferences. The projector is expensive to repair, so if the projector is borrowed for use outside Georgetown, a faculty member must make the request, make arrangements directly with the lab assistant, and agree to be the responsible party if it is damaged at all.
If instructors need an LCD projector for class, they are advised to borrow one through the Classroom Educational Technology Services (CETS) by calling 202-687-7491 or submitting an online request.
