ADVANCED MUSIC ENSEMBLE/AME, 2016-2017

The Advanced Symphonic Orchestra is a combination of our school's most advanced students and select Juniors and Seniors that have volunteered to be a part of the Advanced Music Ensemble.

The Advanced Music Ensemble is a weighted class for Juniors and Seniors that is designed to challenge the student to play higher level music. Requirements of the class include auditioning for all major ensembles (Metro 8 District and All-State Orchestras), performing a Solo for the district Solo/Ensemble festival in March, performing a jury piece for judges (band, choir, and orchestra teachers) each semester, and composing a 5-7 page paper in the first semester with a follow up in-class presentation in the second semester.

Lessons are REQUIRED for enrollment in the Advanced Music Ensemble (AME), as the demands of Metro 8 and All-State auditions require extra out-of-classroom assistance.
