The Orchestras
The Fort Zumwalt West High Orchestras involve over 110 students in creating beautiful string music. Performing two major concerts (Winter & Spring), a Pops Concert (April), a performance in MSHSAA's Large Group Contest, one performance on our yearly road trip, and for other various events (Solo/Ensemble Festival in March, Essence of PPI, Graduation, and other spots around the community), we are kept happily busy throughout the year. Each concert features all students, and traditionally the Philharmonic Orchestra is bolstered by wind and percussion volunteers for a piece or two during the Spring Concert.
Our students are split between three orchestras: The Concert, Symphonic, and Philharmonic Orchestras. For Junior & Senior students who are highly motivated and would like an extra challenge and opportunity for solo performances, we also have the Advanced Music Ensemble that is a part of the 7th hour Philharmonic class.
