Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Controller parts arrived and currently in troubleshooting phase
New integrated heat sinks have arrived for testing against existing heat sink assemblies
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Learned through failure that integrated heat sinks are not capable of dissipated heat from hot side of peltier unless two are used.
thermocouple set up for quick data acquisition for testing of vest performance and thermoelectric cooler optimization
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Philip- help with controller. Help Alex build vest. Continue to communicative with outsourcer about what needs to be done.
Alex- keep assembling vest. run tests with both cooling systems.
Carlos- Troubleshoot controller bugs, complete CAD and perform FEA.
Nathan- Work on the bluetooth module and connecting the controller to the bluetooth app

New integrated heat sinks are a very good find 5/8/20
Dr. Suarez will join the presentation meeting on Thursday 5/14/20
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Add more data and quantitative analysis (5/7/20)
good product design and marketing but focus more on engineering aspects (5/7/20)
Great job at doing a cost benefit analysis for choosing heat sinks. (5/7/20)
Get a list of the price breaks from the supplier if you want to mass produce. (5/7/20)
When you get a new idea, prove how are you wrong instead of how you are right. (5/7/20)
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Anonymous students in feedback (5/7/20):
keep slides less cluttered with words
add more photos
Provide FEA
add more quantitative data
Risks and Areas of Concern
Placement of thermocouple for accurate reading
Optimize size and efficiency of heart sink
Removal of hot air
Learning Swift to connect app to Bluetooth receiver
Values of Kp, Ki and Kd for optimal PID controller
Vapor Lock in the pump
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Ed the TA will provide assistance with determining the gain for controller
Schedule
The first vest prototype was built with new heat sinks that came in 5/7/20.
Updated Gantt chart.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Spent: $341.77
Remaining: ~$3577.72
