Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Determined the components necessary for PID controller design
Arrival of major components for final vest design
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Determined cryogenic thermal paste for attachment of water channel to peltier plate.
Successfully presented design proposal presentation
Ran convection tests to compare with convection tests
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Philip - work on the final report. continue to figure out how to build a controller for the peltier device.
Alex - continue to build the prototype vest and do other various tests as needed.
Carlos - generate a CAD model of the vest so FEA analysis can be done on the system as a whole. Continue to figure out an appropriate controller for the peltier device.
Nathan - Develop an app using blink and determine arduino module for controller connectivity. Look into what sensors can be implemented in the vest.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Sponsor confirmed the direction we intend to take on the controller
Sponsor okay'd outsourcing of smart phone app

Make sure to try and split up tasks such that each student can be involved and engaged and working to their strengths.
Don't have every student working on the same thing; There are many components to this class.
Make sure to know students strengths and have each student focus on those things.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Student listening in on design proposal - look into OSHA regulations and try to abide by it for manual laborers
Risks and Areas of Concern
connectivity of smartphone app to controller
Peltier will take too much power and drain battery too fast.
Making the PID controller smaller will be very difficult
PID controller will be difficult to optimize to work well with changing environment.
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Still looking into controller parts that will ship quicker, they are late May - early June delivery.
Schedule
Building the first prototype vest
