Weekly Progress Reports (see sidebar), the Gantt chart, and this Project Management page should be printed out before meetings with the sponsor and instructor.
All team members should be able to explain all items on the progress report.
Place a "*" at the beginning of the title of the active week Progress Report (see * in sidebar).
Project Objectives
Concisely list and prioritize the project objectives and constraints
High Priority Objectives
Creating a well functioning active cooling system using a refrigeration cycle.
Finding a good coolant and pipe material that can work in our vest as well as a feasible means to pump it around.
Create a compact and efficient battery that is able to source all our needs. (from pumps to refrigeration).
Second Priority Objectives
Make sure our vest can function for about 45 min to an hour on one charge.
Connecting a body temperature sensor and possibly a blood pressure sensor.
Make a Bluetooth connection available to track statistics. Create a compatible app.
Make the vest lightweight and sleek looking.
Other Constraints and Issues
Make sure refrigeration cycle is effective enough to cool a warm body.
WOW Design Solution
Install a PID sensor that is able to track a constant temperature reference, input by the user.
A product that would be able to be widely used by athletes, construction workers, and possibly the military: light, durable and non-constricting
Risk Reduction Strategy
List areas of risk and strategy that will be used to eliminate risk really in the design process.
finding a battery that is small enough to be light but also powerful enough to provide the power we require.
making sure that the cooling cycle is effective enough to cool a large person.
making sure the power source isn't a risk to its user.
Intermediate Milestones
Identifying meaningful intermediate milestones is a critical for effective project management. Together with your sponsor identify such milestones, and specify specific performance requirements you aim to meet at each milestone.
the first milestone is to find a refrigeration cycle that is powerful enough to cool the body. Deconstruction of a refrigerator to analyze its components could be useful.
