Motor:
Select 2 or 3 different ways of transferring torque from the wheel
Transfer plate
Brakes with disc to transfer torque
Flexible shaft coupling to power torque in line
Could attach belt and mount motor from the side
How much time do we want it to take to get up to speed?
Most of the time have gearbox attached to motor
Calculate kinetic energy of gyrowheel at full speed, calculate how many seconds to come up to speed and that is how much energy you need to put in from the motor
Maximum power output is in the middle? And multiply by some factor of safety
Choose the motor based on how much power you need
Choose the gearbox using your simulation
