Following on from our guest speaker talk about previous Market Days, let's do some real-world, connected writing for a particular purpose. Let's write a news story to promote Market Day!
LI: To plan, research, write and publish a persuasive news story.
SC: Students will compose a news story on Market Day to advertise this event. It will be distributed by the students, Facebook, School newsletter and perhaps even The Daily Examiner and FM104.7 radio.

3. Then plan your writing using the attached planner below.
4. Write your news story. Have a teacher approve it.
5. Publish with a photo or two using the Powerpoint file attached at the bottom of this page.

6. Now make a promotional poster to hang around the school. Use the information learned when writing your report to make your advertising poster.
