October week two

Dear Parents we will work on the following activities this week and through the month of October.

English Language Arts:

Students will choral read the weekly story.

Students will individually read pages from the story.

Students will partner and read the story together. Students will be checked for comprehension.

Students will be checked for understanding vocabulary, this may be pointing to the pictures for some students.

Students will do the activities that go with the story.

Activities include the following:

Trace and write spelling/vocabulary words.

Do bingo on the vocabulary words.

Do cutting/pasting activity and sorting into rows.

Students will unscramble the sentences that go with the story.

Students will answer detailed questions about the story and fill in the blanks.

Students will also identify first letters, last letters, and rhyming words.

Students will edit a paragraph that goes with the story.

Students will complete Unique activities for math in money, time, fractions, adding, subtracting, multiplying, greater than / less than, rounding to the nearest 100.

Students will use manipulatives in time and money. They will use manipulatives, number lines, multiplication charts as needed. All math papers for student goals are created by hand or printed. Students also receive constant review of previous learned math such as addition, subtraction, money problems, story problems, and more.
