Have your notes and images for each section
HAVE YOUR RUBRICS ON HAND to check your work as you write
Make sure you have your sources for any work that you are using that is not yours - CITE YOUR SOURCES, including using *** in-text citing***
LAYOUT STEP #1: Decide if you want to do your layout in portfolio or landscape
LAYOUT STEP #2: Make a cover page with:
HL Theatre Director's Notebook
May 2019 session (12th graders) OR May 2020 session (11th graders)
Name of the play your Director's Notebook is about
Number of pages
Your candidate number (Ms. Guzowski is checking to see if this is still necessary, but for now please put your number on your cover page, if you know it)
LAYOUT STEP #3: Make a Table of Contents Page that has these subheadings:
1. The play text, its context and the ideas presented in the entire play
2. My artistic responses, creative ideas and explorations for the entire play prior to the forming of
directorial intentions
3. My own experiences of live theatre as a spectator and how directors use performance and production
elements
4. My directorial intentions for the entire play and the intended impact on an audience
5. How I would stage two moments of the play
LAYOUT STEP #4: Create Your Notebook in the order of your Table of Contents
LAYOUT STEP #5: Number your pages and add those page numbers to your Table of Contents
1. The play text, its context and the ideas presented in the entire play........................................ pages 2-5
