Grade 9 MYP Design Units
Unit 1 – Digital Poetry: Students use poems based around the concept of identity written in English class as the stimulus to design their own digital poems using motion graphics software - combining typography, sound, graphics and video. In the design process students will develop their own typeface to use for the project.

Unit 2 – Mobile Application Design: Students design and develop their own mobile applications to aid the ISU community

Software: Android App Inventor
Unit 3 – Movable Toys: Students build toys constructed using movable geared parts using various materials.
Product Design
Skills: Gears, power tools, technical drawing, user testing
Materials: Wood, plastic, metal
Unit 4 – Robotics & Electronics: Students learn about electronics, sensors and syntax based root programming with the goal of controlling autonomous robots.
