For this classroom Final Project, you will be creating a group project using the Tello Drone and DroneBlocks. Make sure each of you are doing the trial codes on your own computers so if someone is absent, you will have the code to still run.
You will be assigned a drone. Please share the drone with all group members. A FULL NEW battery gets about 13 minutes of straight fly time. Use your energy wisely as you only get one full charge per class.
You must then program your drone to conduct a mission to run EXACTLY 10 actions to include takeoff and landing. You CAN, however, use REPEAT blocks and the repeat block itself does not count towards your ten. Your route must start on the X, travel at least 5 feet (meaning at least ONE line of your code needs to go 60in or more), and return on the X. Your program must run from start to finish and not stop. Your program must include EXACTLY 10 steps and include 'Take off, a move up, down, left, right, back, forward, and land.' The other two steps are up to you. (If you are shooting for a perfect mission (an A+), you need to perform the actions to go through a hoop one way. Do not fly the drone into the hoop!)
When you are finished, use a group member's Chromebook to video the successful completion (take off, mission and landing). You will also want to take a screenshot of the code/program you created.
Videotape your successful run.
Go to Google Classroom, click on Robotics Project Topic and find the Final assignment. Link the video by selecting Add from Files (it should be in your downloads), be sure to add all groups members in the comment section and submit. I will grade each member based on that one submission.
Please be aware that even though this is a group project, I want as many of you hands on learning as possible. You have to actively be involved in your learning. Seek out opportunities to participate/lead, ask to participate... don't wait for someone to involve you, and do not take over the project from everyone else. Be a team player. There is a steep learning curve here with very little time (which is why you are in groups). Use each other to learn. Good luck!
