Log into MakeCode.adafruit.com and create a new project.
Go to the tutorial NeoPixels with MakeCode (make sure to read the MakeCode primer and checkout the Adafruit NeoPixel Uberguide for more details), create a program that flashes different LED lights to The Rainbow Song (this will play in the background as you record your Circuit Playground.) You must include a minimum of 10 different blocks of code, but most importantly, it should look like it goes with the song (When he sings red, I should see red. When he sings yellow, I should see yellow. For the It's a rainbow, take the opportunity to be creative and code it however you want only to return to the repeat of the verse and colors. It should look something similar to this if you are using the Circuit Playground or this if you are using the simulator).
If you are able to actually download to a Circuit Playground...
Here is how you download it to run the program on the actual Circuit Playground:
Connect the Circuit Playground by USB to the Chromebook.
Press the middle button (reset) to reset the Circuit Playground. (You should get a notice that a 'Removeable device is detected.)
(I would encourage you to code it so that it starts 'On Button A Click' instead of 'On Start' so that you can control when it starts with the song.)
One your program is created (and tested using the PLAY button on the simulator), name it (in the textbox at the bottom) and press 'Download.' (It give you a notice that it was downloaded.)
Click on 'Show in Folder' to see the download.
Drag the File from Downloads to the 'CPLAYBOOT' on the left hand side.
Your program should run. If you need to make changes. You will need to do the process again to see the changes.
Video the completed project (with song playing) on the Chromebook.
If you are struggling to get your program to download, you may view this tutorial to help.
Lastly, upload the video to your Google Drive.
You must also take a screen shot of your completed code and upload that as well.
Once you have completed this, go to Google Classroom, click on Coding Project Topic and find the Practice assignment, add from Google Drive and select the video. You now are ready for your Final Project.
