External Websites

External Websites

One of the primary tools the Public Information Division uses to communicate with the public is the DDOT website. While ddot.dc.gov is the primary agency website, PID does allow certain programs and projects to create external websites in order to communicate with the public about specific programs.

All DDOT affiliated websites should use the following guidelines:

  • Prior to designing the website, the program manager should coordinate with the Digital Communications Manager and Public Information Officer to discuss the need and intent for the website.

  • All external websites should include the appropriate color schemes, logos and branding in the design. No exceptions.

  • All websites should be submitted for review and approval by the Digital Media Manager and the Public Information Officer prior to going live.

Updating Current DDOT Websites

Use the primary usage version of the DDOT logo in the bottom right corner above the navigation bar on all pages to maintain a consistent visual brand. If additional logos are used on secondary pages, place them to the left of the DDOT logo. The DDOT branding footer should appear at the bottom of all web pages.)

(The branding strip is available for download below).

Creating New DDOT Websites

Use the primary usage version of the DDOT logo in the upper right corner above the navigation bar. Use the DDOT footer on all web pages (branding strip available for download below), and if additional logos are used on secondary pages, place them to the left of the DDOT logo. The website should follow the color, typography, and taglines, images and text style guidelines. Websites should meet the District Government brand descriptions bold, sleek, and professional.
