Apple & Pear tree Grafting workshops - a learning & fundraising activity for HOCO

Apple and Pear trees for sale are popular with Apple Day visitors. Sales raise funds for HOCO, and encourage more people to plant more fruit trees in their gardens and allotments. This year we are pleased to open our grafting workshops to all. 

Good grafters have: an eye for healthy, young shoots; steady hands and nimble fingers; pay attention to detail; and use a very sharp knife!

Workshop participants will graft apples and pears for sale at the HOCO Apple Day. They have the opportunity to graft trees to take away on the day.

Rootstocks available: M27 (very dwarfing), M9 (dwarfing), M26 (moderately dwarfing), Quince C (moderately dwarfing).

You are welcome to bring your own scion material.

Cost: £15, includes one newly grafted tree to take away
 Free for HOCO members*
£5 for each additional grafted tree to take away

* HOCO is open to new members joining as Friends, and to new Harvest-share members who are taking part in Orchard Learning courses.
