TEAM REQUIREMENTS FOR ICE HARBOR SCHOLASTIC OPEN
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS CONSTITUTING A TEAM ARE ONLY 3 PLAYERS RATHER THAN THE CUSTOMARY 4 PLAYERS TYPICAL IN MOST INDIVIDUAL/TEAM TOURNAMENTS
The top three scores of players from a team shall be totaled to determine the team score. Tie breaks shall be calculated summing the total tie break points from each of the team players.
Teams consists of at least two players from the same school or club in a given section, K-3 Open, K-6 Open, K-12 Open, K-6 U800, and K-12 U1200 pursuant to the following conditions.
School teams may be considered as teams of youth school players representing that school.
Teams may represent chess clubs and consist of youth participating in the section for which they are registered and who are members of the club represented.
Club members must attend at least six regularly scheduled club meetings over a period of at least three months immediately preceding the tournament and must be verified by the club president or designated club official.
A club team must contain a minimum of two players to be eligible for team prizes.
There is no maximum number of players who may compete on a club team, but only the top three scores in any one section will count toward the team score.
Bonus points will not be added to team or individual scores. Points cannot be transferred between sections unless the player has changed sections.
The Coach is responsible for assuring that all of his players are properly registered and eligible to participate as members of his team.
USCF Affiliate Membership is encouraged for all teams.
