We have ran this tournament for two years. Each year we ask our participants to complete a survey at the conclusion of the event. These are all the comments received, in their entirety, from last year's event. Nothing has been modified or filter and are listed in the order received.
Well-organized, nice location.
It was very well run, and a nice site.
Since we were travelling, it was great that the hotel had a water park. This allowed us to make a mini vacation of it for the entire family.
The quality and quantity of trophies given out was very nice. My son didn't win won of the big trophies but even the one he received was nicer than just about every other trophy he has won!"
The variety of activities (960, bughouse)
We liked the accommodations....the swim park for the family members that weren't participating in the tourney, the casino and museum right next door (basically) and the restaurants nearby. It was fun to stay in the hotel on site. My son in the tourney had no complaints what-so-ever.
That the rounds were spaced out & there was time to relax/explore between rounds.
The spacious playing room and long-time controls.
Lots of space, waterpark, efficiently run, lovely city. My daughter appreciates so many TROPHIES!
Each participant was asked, "On a scale of 1-5." These are the results:
4.7 out of 5: How would you rate the process to register for the chess tournament?
4.6 out of 5: How would you rate the effectiveness of the Tournament Directors?
4.9 out of 5: How likely are you to return in 2015?
4.9 out of 5: Will you recommend playing in 2015 Ice Harbor to another scholastic chess player or parent?
