I used both Fusion360 and the ShopBot to create my own pencil holder. I designed the file in Fusion360 and used the ShopBot to cut out my project. Creating the project in Fusion360 was not that difficult, unfortunately I had a few errors that caused my project to take much longer than it should have. First, in Fusion360 I had my pitch set to 0.0375 inches instead of 0.375 inches. This caused the cut to take much longer than it should have while cutting out the 8 smaller holes for pencils. However, the holes still turned out exactly correct, it just took longer than it should have. Second, I had my finishing cut setting not set to be done in multiple steps. Mr. Rudolph pointed this to me and I fixed the issue. This caused the ShopBot to drill straight down at the end of cutting out the holes instead of doing a finishing cut. I had to use the band saw on the holder to make up for this error. Overall, this project went very successfully and I now have a useful pencil holder.
