Using the 123D Design program we created different objects, and for our final project we created a useful object. At first, my final project was too tall and think, so it would take 11 hours to 3-D print. I re-designed my project 5 times in order to cut down on the time without compromising the design. My final design took 3 hours and 55 minutes to print which is a significant decrease from the original. To reduce the time I used the same dimensions for the cutout for the pencils and the iPhone, but I shrunk the space between each pencil cutout and between the pencil cutouts and the iPhone cutout. 123D Design does not have a tool that allows you cut down on the size of an already made design. So I had to remake the entire project every time I had to cut down on the time. The project did make it very easy to make exact dimensions for each structure so I was able to make the sizes perfect. The best tool for me was probably the subtract tool because it allowed me to make space for both the pencils and for the iPhone. Also in the Death Star all I had to do was make 2 spheres and then cut one out of the other. You could also put objects into other objects which let me make the cat face by putting spheres in the head to make the eyes. 123D Design was very simple and easy to use, but I wish that they let you change the dimensions of structures that you have already made if they don't work that way.
