Aid from Private/Non-Profit Organizations

Loans

These loans are non-Federal loans, made by a lender such as a bank, credit union, state agency, or a school. Private loans often have unfavorable terms and should be used as a last resort.

Scholarships & Grants

You might be able to get a scholarship for being a good student, a great basketball player, or a member of a certain church, or because your parent works for a particular company, or for some other reason. Students should check with their school’s financial aid office, the library, their employers, foundations, religious or community organizations, professional organizations, and ethnicity-based organizations for applicable scholarships & grants. There is at least one scholarship or grant for everyone!
