Marching Band (1041A/B) and

Color Guard (1517X)

Capital High School has a competitive marching band as well as indoor ensembles. During the first quarter of school all students in band at Capital participate in the marching band. The marching band competes in the Treasure Valley and the Northwest every year. Depending on the year, the marching band will be travels to Pasco, WA  or Utah to compete in out of state festivals.

Here are some dates for this coming year:

 Band Calendar 2024-2025

Band Camp 2024-2025 school year

July 29 - August 1 from 8am-5pm

August 6-8 from 1pm-5pm

August 6 - band movie night from 6-8pm

August 8 - End of Band Camp Performance 5pm

Students and Parents,

As we continue to foster a passion for music in our community we want to make sure we are setting ourselves up for success in the future! With high school band, part of future success is band camp before the next school year. The dates for our band camp next year will be July 29-August 1 (Monday through Thursday) and in the afternoons on August 6-8 (Tuesday-Thursday). On August 6th, we will do a band movie night that families will all be invited to! On August 8th, we will do dinner and a 'End of Band Camp Performance' to showcase what we have accomplished during camp! For any students playing sports, I have already begun working out the schedule with the coaches to make sure students can do multiple activities. If you know you will be playing a sport next fall, let me know so we can ensure success at both activities!

We know the time right before school is precious. We are intentionally not having rehearsals/events on Fridays before school starts and avoiding Mondays as well to make sure families have time for weekend trips before school. (I know I will be taking that time to go backpacking/visit my family). I understand this is a big ask, but as you plan your summer activities please keep these dates in mind as they are the foundation for building a successful band!

I look forward to meeting your students next semester as we prepare for our combined concert and creating incredible music for many years to come!

thank you!

Mr. Lindorfer
