Jazz Ensemble 1042 A0/B0

Capital High has a jazz band and and two jazz combos. These groups are made up of students from the marching/symphonic band,  percussion ensemble, and sometimes orchestra/choir to offer a different style of music. The jazz ensembles are one player on a part and consist of Trumpets, Trombones, Saxophones, and Rhythm Section.  These students meet at zero hour every day to make some incredible music.

The jazz ensembles perform through out the entire year. They perform at all symphonic band concerts as well as jazz festivals and benefit concerts. Every year Capital in the fall performs in the DIII Jazz Festival and in the spring performs in the Gene Harris Jazz Festival. The jazz ensemble travels to other festivals including the Reno Jazz Festival, Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, and the Clackamas Jazz Festival on the years the symphonic band is not traveling.
