Source # 4 - Russian Graffiti in the German Reichstag (Parliament) - After the reunification of Germany in 1990, the Reichstag Building (Parliament building) was rebuilt to be the new capital building for Germany - it had stood in ruins since the end of World War Two. During the process of rebuilding the Reichstag workers discovered graffiti made by Russian soldiers who captured the building at the end of the war. The graffiti includes phrases like "Hitler is dead" and "Death to Germans". The graffiti is on walls of the hallway outside the room where the German parliament meets. The German government made the decision to preserve the graffiti.
