Fetal Pig Study Sources

This is a list of websites that are very useful when studying the anatomy of the fetal pig

This will be the most helpful guide to studying the pig. It has actual photos, and very easy to see different parts. The different systems are split into categories. Once in a system section the parts are labeled along with a description of what they do.

This website contains a slideshow of a dissected pig. With real pictures and the following items are labeled; carotid artery, diaphragm, gall bladder, heart, inferior vena cava, jugular vein, kidney, large intestine, larynx, liver, lung, mesentery, rectum, ribcage, roof of mouth, small intestine, spleen, stomach, subclavian artery, subclavian vein, testis, tongue, trachea, umbilical artery, umbilical cord, urinary bladder.

It is difficult to differentiate between parts in these pictures.

This site is helpful because you can pick a part and it highlights the area but only has one photo.

This is one of the better sites. A slide show goes through the steps of dissection. Parts are clearly labeled and very easy to see. It also has a glossary of words.

This site has multiple Photos of a dissected pig. You can click on a body part and a description is giving. This is a good source to study the pig.

This site separates systems into categories which maybe a helpful tool. The pictures are drawn and not labeled that well. Descriptions are not as thorough as some other sites
