PSAT/NMSQT is a paper-based assessment that includes five sections in three skill areas: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Skills, along with other components that provide a way to link academic performance to educational and career planning.

Student assessment data from PSAT test results will help high school counselors determine student readiness and potential for success in Advanced Placement and other college preparatory courses, and identify students who may need additional instruction before enrolling in such courses. Materials are available to assist guidance counselors in using data to recognize students who, with encouragement and an increased understanding of the role of advanced courses in their academic careers, could be successful in such courses.

Students who take the PSAT during their 11th-grade year may qualify for National Merit Scholarships. Please read the attachments below for more information about the PSAT or visit the CollegeBoard's PSAT Coordinator website.

Student score reports (one for student, one for cumulative file) and school summary reports should arrive in our district in mid-December.
