DAR

Diagnostic Assessment of Reading, Second Edition, is an individually administered diagnostic reading test that provides an assessment of individual student achievement in print awareness, phonological awareness, letters and sounds, word recognition, word analysis, oral reading accuracy and fluency, silent reading comprehension, spelling, and word meaning.

  • Grades/Students: Selected students in grades K-12, but typically used in our district for Elementary schools.

  • Date: Administered on an as-needed basis.

  • Description: The Diagnostic Assessment of Reading is a criterion referenced reading test administered individually to students who are not making progress in their reading intervention.

  • Results: The scores are immediately available for targeting reading instruction.
