This seminar will guide students through two questions that have haunted teenagers since the beginning of time: “Ok, sure, but what’s the point?” and “So what?”, while briefly touching on the insightful, “I don’t care.” Students will read from numerous texts, drawing from philosophy, short stories, plays, and pop culture. Students will be asked to write short reflective pieces weekly in addition to producing a longer essay as the final product of the class.
Graduation Standards: Students may earn: Reading and Literature: American Contemporary, World Lit 20th Century, World Lit: Latin and South American Literature, World Lit: Pre-20th Century; Writing: Critical, and Writing: Process.
