My concentration explores the complicated patterns found in nature. We live in a world where resources are limited and as a generation we have drastically failed to make a change. I hope that by emphasizing the beauty and allure of nature, I can create consciousness and encourage change.

Elisabeth Easley | 3D Design

My series explores what I believe everyday objects would look like if the world had flooded. Being able to take an item and see how it will interact with the ocean and its elements intrigues me. The fairy tale idea of an “underwater world” is what has inspired my work. The notion of the world flooding isn’t far from the truth when considering the effects of climate change.

Karla Vasquez | 3D Design

My series is about phobias, from the most common to the strangest. Each piece explores a different phobia and how that phobia makes a person feel or react. Each piece also includes an outside element which is not made out of clay, representing a connection to the real world.

Ana Hurtado | 3D Design

My work explores the connection between nature and human life through the creation of ecosystems in common household items. Nature is found everywhere but we forget the importance and beauty that it adds to our everyday life. By combining mini ecosystems with dish ware like bowls and teapots, I am bringing nature into the home as a reminder of it’s beauty and uniqueness

Luca Boschetti | 3D Design

I created a series of functional ceramic works inspired by the Art Deco style. I was drawn to the style because it has a lot of perfect and smooth geometry, like my pieces. I really like to make things that are useful, however, at first sight they do not appear useful.

Lorenza Gutierrez | 3D Design

My concentration explores the destruction of nature at the hands of humanity. I used hands as my subject to show how humans are responsible for the damages caused to the environment. I believe It's crucial that we become more aware of the impact we have on the environment as this is a pressing problem. It's up to us now to make a change to preserve what's left of our planet for future generations.

Maria Uralde | 3D Design

Driven by my interest in art history and Japanese culture, each piece in my series is based on a Japanese legend or poem. Additionally, the pieces are influenced by the Kintsugi aesthetic. This is the process of joining broken pottery pieces with gold, adding to the piece’s beauty, value, and history. The legends I chose portray ideas or teachings about growth and evolution, which is what the Kintsugi philosophy wishes to project.

Fernanda Gonzalez | Drawing

My series is about a little boy with leukemia. Throughout my artworks I explore the different stages the boy goes through emotionally and the way his illness affects him and his family. I became interested in this topic when my aunt was diagnosed with several types of cancer. Since then, I became very touched by the way cancer impacts young children and the way they cope with it.

Emily Easley | Drawing

My series is an exploration of different mental illnesses expressed through monsters. People close to me have mental illnesses and I want to gain a better understanding of them while educating others on the issue. Mental illnesses are not something you can see. By representing them visually, I hope to bring understanding and comfort to people affected by them.

Fermin Nieblas | Drawing

The focus of my series is nightmares. My artworks represent some of the worst nightmares that my friends have experienced. What we experience while we sleep can create some of the most bizarre and interesting scenarios that feel so real we can wake up feeling happy, sad or even afraid. I wanted to capture that feeling through my work.

Alejandra Salles | 2D Design

My concentration explores the idea of music through the portrayal of instruments or objects related to music. The pieces express the rhythm, sounds and melodies of music through color and movement by the chosen colors, typography and abstractness of the background. I have always had a love for music and it has been a big part of my life. Music has the ability to lift me up and make me feel every kind of emotion.

Tamara Dueñas | 2D Design

I’ve always admired the uniqueness of every woman. With the growing female movement, I was inspired to depict the valued women in my life. I was guided by the question: How can I portray each of my female friends' personalities and inner beauty by connecting them to something I’ve always found beautiful: nature?

Noor Chehabeddine | 2D Design

My series depicts the change that mankind has caused to our earth. I was guided by these questions: “How can I represent the negative effects of a materialistic society?”, and “How can I show change of environment through tone, saturation, and texture?”. The work is created in pairs. One piece represents an idyllic environment, followed by a contrasting piece showing that same ecosystem after the effects of human greed, and money-driven motives like mining.

Ana Marull | 2D Design

My concentration is about my favorite cities in the world and how I express them through fashion garments. Every time I go on vacation to a new place, I find myself very inspired by the details. I feel that fashion is much more than just simple clothing. I believe it's a form of self expression. I find these collections very inspiring and they give a glimpse to the public about my perspective of a certain city.

Sofia Carvalho | 2D Design

The focus on my investigation is Brazilian culture. I feel personally connected to this topic because I am Brazilian. Since I was little I moved around a lot, and for the past five years I’ve lived in Mexico, far from home. These pieces make me feel more connected to where I am from, because at times it can feel like I am a stranger to my own country.

Julieta Velasco | 2D Design

My series focuses on the negative impact pollution has on our oceans. I’ve always loved going to the beach and swimming in the ocean, and it’s heartbreaking to see the amount of trash that is left on the shore or is floating in the water. I hope that with these pieces, we realize how big of an impact humans have on the environment, so we can become aware of the consequences and hopefully be inspired to change our consumption habits before the damage is irreversible.
